First, a patient receives the initial message that you, the healthcare provider, sends with all the info about the product you're recommending them. If the patient does nothing after the initial message, a reminder text is sent twice more, three days apart.
We find that most patients purchase on the second and even third notifications, not because they're badgered, but rather because they want to wait to purchase the product later, they want to research the product before they purchase it, or because the original text gets buried in their inbox.
It's a good idea to communicate from the onset that patients are not required to order this product through shiftMD; rather, it's simply a recommendation (a good one, we think!).
