In March 2021 Fidia started distributing a new formulation of the HyaloGYN gel which is now made without parabens. The original formulation of the product is no longer manufactured.
The change was due to market perception regarding parabens and recent requests by HCPs. With the new formulation it has been noted, as well as reflected in the product labeling, that some users may experience a heating or burning sensation with the use of the product. It will typically occur upon administration and self-resolve with no residual irritation. Tissue studies were performed that showed the product does not cause tissue damage and is safe to use.
The product will have “made without parabens” printed on boxes and tubes.
